To understand the campaign running process, First, you must have the Facebook pixel code & Google tag code on your websites.

So, As you are planning to run a remarketing campaign, I am assuming you already had a good amount of visitors each day on your site. Visitors could come through many sources, social media, search engines,s or previously run paid ads on Facebook & google platforms.

So, when the visitor comes into your website, those tracking codes are taking action.

In terms of Facebook: let’s give you a shot by an example.

You wanna retarget those visitors who visited your store in the last 90 days. So, the campaign ad level selects the last 90 days visitor, from there you could choose the sources like websites visitors or your social page visitor. So, after selecting the visitors, you could also exclude those who purchased products or services from you.

In terms of Google:

By running a remarketing campaign on Google, it gives you the chance to reach those who are already known by your brand. 2018 statistics show, reaching 1000 cost you $2.28 whereas pay per click will cost $35.09. It saves you a bunch of money.

when the Gtag has a good amount of visitors into the tracking code, you will be able to run a successful campaign. you could target those who bounced from your site & that ads could be very effective because Google has over 2 million display network websites where 90% of internet users are under this.
